Therapy Intensives for Women Online in New York & Florida
Have you been here before?
Weekly therapy feels like you're stuck on a treadmill going nowhere.
Every session, you start opening up about something painful, then your 50 minutes are up.
You leave mid-process, carrying those difficult feelings all week until you're back in that room again.
Meanwhile, you're still struggling with the same symptoms that brought you to therapy in the first place.
There’s a faster way forward.
Research supports intensive trauma-focused therapy as an effective approach. You'll leave with significant shifts in how your past affects your present, plus tools to keep building on that progress.
How I can help
EMDR Intensives compress months of healing into 1-3 focused days. Instead of the start-stop pattern of weekly sessions, this format lets your brain stay in the processing zone longer. The breakthroughs that might take half a year in traditional therapy can happen in days.
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.”
-Brene Brown
Intensives work well if you:
Feel stuck in weekly therapy without making real progress
Need relief from trauma symptoms now, not eventually
Have a packed schedule that makes weekly appointments nearly impossible
Want focused, intensive healing without ongoing commitments
Are dealing with specific traumatic experiences that won't recede
Frequently Asked Questions
-
An intensive is an extended block of EMDR therapy instead of the traditional 50-minute weekly session. This could be anywhere from 2-3 hours, to a full day, to several days scheduled over a period of weeks. Perhaps the greatest benefit of therapy intensives is this: instead of starting to open something up and then having to close it back down because time is up, you get to stay in the work. The processing that might take months in weekly therapy can happen in days.

I offer half-day intensives (3 hours), full-day intensives (5-6 hours), and multi-day packages spread across 1–3 consecutive or near-consecutive days. If your situation calls for something in between, we can talk through a custom structure during your consultation.

Yes. If you're new to EMDR, we'll build in time at the start of your intensive to prepare your nervous system and make sure the approach feels grounded and safe before we process anything.

Weekly therapy is valuable, and we can absolutely work that way together if that is your preference. However, working intensively removes the stringent time barrier of weekly sessions. You have the time and continuity to really move through targets in a more efficient way, without having to intentionally activate your memory networks and then put everything back away week after week. Working intensively is both more efficient, and gentler on your nervous system.
-
Before scheduling a longer intensive session, you’ll attend a 90-minute intake session. During this session, I’ll take a thorough history, help you to identify targets for reprocessing, and begin to teach you some tools and resources we will use during EMDR reprocessing.
-
Intensives are billed at $200 per hour. A deposit is required to hold your dates, and I’ll walk you through the full cost breakdown during your consultation call, depending on which format you choose. You’ll also receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) prior to any charges.
-
I can provide a SuperBill after your intensive if you’d like to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. It is likely that, if you do have out-of-network benefits, that they will reimburse only for the first hour of the intensive in any given day. I’d encourage you to check with your insurance company ahead of time to understand your out-of-network benefits if using these benefits is important for you.

Processing doesn't stop when the session does. It's normal to feel tired or emotionally tender in the days that follow as the work continues to integrate. I build stabilization time into the end of every intensive, and we'll talk through how to be especially gentle with yourself afterward. I’ll also check in with you via email within a day or two of your intensive, and offer a follow up support call if needed.
