Does this sound familiar?

  • You've completed your EMDR basic training, but something is holding you back from actually using it.

  • Maybe you're second-guessing your protocol implementation with certain clients, or aren’t quite sure when they are “resourced enough” to move onto Phase 4

  • Maybe you are unsure what to do when your clients become stuck? When they experience dissociation during processing? When the SUDS is a 0 but the VoC is still a 3?

  • Or you're unsure when standard EMDR needs modification to keep treatment safe and effective.

  • Maybe you are confused about when to use cognitive interweaves, or future template. Or what to do with that client with ADHD.

  • Or you have questions about a specific phase, or protocol, like whether to use slow or fast BLS in Phase 5, or what to do when a client comes to you after a recent traumatic event

  • Maybe you’re also trained in IFS and are interested in learning more about integrating the two models.

  • Perhaps you're working toward EMDRIA certification and need guidance and consultation hours to get there.

EMDR consultation gives you the support you need to confidently use this powerful modality with your clients. You'll receive feedback on your clinical work, guidance on tricky cases, and help mastering the eight-phase protocol and three-pronged approach. As an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant, I am able to provide all 20 hours of consultation for you to obtain your EMDRIA Certification. I am also available to provide individual and group consultation to CITs on their journey to becoming Approved Consultants.

Through virtual EMDR consultation, I’m able to work with consultees across the US and Canada.

What consultation with me offers:

  • A pathway to becoming a Certified EMDR Therapist, Consultant-in-Training, or Approved Consultant

  • Expert guidance on applying standard EMDR therapy effectively

  • Feedback on your implementation and case conceptualization

  • Support in recognizing when modifications are necessary for safety and best practice

  • Tools to assess for and work with dissociation and complex trauma

  • Space to process challenging cases and strengthen your skills

  • I offer EMDR consultation for certification, as well as clinical consultation around specific protocols and resources, including: pre-verbal protocol, Attachment-Focused EMDR, Flash technique, and the integration of EMDR and IFS.

Why choose me as your consultant?

My approach to EMDR consultation is grounded in standard EMDR, while viewing the client system through the lens of IFS (Internal Family Systems). I’m always on the lookout for parts that may be showing up and getting in the way of processing, or that may need some attention prior to moving forward. Through this gentle integration of IFS-informed care into my EMDR work, I’m able to curate a more nuanced and effective path through trauma processing. I keep EMDR as my primary modality, always returning to the target memory once the protector has stepped back and given permission for us to proceed.

A Layered, Integrative Approach

In addition to IFS, I incorporate pre-verbal protocol, Attachment-Focused EMDR, and Flash technique into my work with clients, and can offer expertise in helping you to understand and integrate these powerful protocols into your own clinical practice.

Consultation That Goes Beyond Standard Protocol

When you choose me as your consultant, we go beyond just troubleshooting standard protocol. We explore what’s happening in the therapeutic relationship, what parts of your client may be showing up and blocking EMDR processing, and how to use the interplay between EMDR’s memory reprocessing approach and IFS’s exploration of the different parts of self to move through what feels stuck.

Who Is a Good Fit for Consultation with Me?

Whether you’re a newer EMDR-trained clinician looking to expand your competency and deepen your understanding of EMDR, an experienced therapist ready to layer IFS into your EMDR sessions, or are ready to take the next step toward EMDRIA certification, consultation with me is a space to think clinically, grow your confidence, and deepen the work that moves the needle toward real and lasting change for your clients.

This is consultation, not supervision.

You remain fully responsible for your clinical decisions and client treatment. My role is to provide feedback on how you're implementing EMDR, helping you build confidence and competence without taking over your autonomy as a clinician.

Good consultation should feel like a relationship, not an evaluation. Reach out and let's find out if we're a good fit.
